Time for A Break

I really enjoy writing and editing this blog on such a regular basis. It offers me an opportunity to not only re-examine my own journey in recovery, but also push back against the stigma surrounding mental health. However, even with things you love, sometimes you need a break. And since I will be traveling for the Thanksgiving holidays, now seems to be as good a time as any to take a week off.

And whatever is going on with you this week I hope you find time for yourself too. I know there are many who still have to work on Thanksgiving, our doctors and first responders and so many others who keep us safe during the holidays, but even if you can’t take time on the day itself, find a day that you can.

Because taking time for yourself during this time of year is more than just a chance for obligatory family get-togethers, it is a chance for us to hit our own reset button. Too often too many of us get buried in the day-to-day, so much so that we start carrying the baggage from previous days into each successive new day. Breaks break that chain of proverbial baggage. So what are you waiting for? Go pack your literal baggage and take a break whenever you are able.

I promise the world will still be there when you get back. And as for me, I will be back next Tuesday.
