I talked yesterday about the importance of advocating for yourself and the importance of self-care. Well, I am trying to practice what I preach today and wanted to encourage you to do the same. Wherever you are. Whatever you have going on today, please take time for self-care.
This morning, I went for a run. I don’t really like running, but I do like the time to myself. And I like the feeling of accomplishment when I finish and know that I can rest. And I like the endorphin rush it produces.
And then later today, I am spending some time with my wife and some close friends of ours, enjoying a little Irish music, Irish culture, and of course, Irish beer and Irish spirits. Spending time with the people in my life and listening to good music is such an important part of many self-care routines, mine included. And while the weirdness of 2020 and the sickness it has brought certainly brings about additional challenges to being social, that doesn’t mean it isn’t important to find ways of being social, whatever those ways are.
So that is my self-care Saturday update. I’d love to hear what you do for self-care, so if you feel so inclined, drop a note in the comment section letting people know what you do for self-care.
And as always, thanks for reading. Have a good rest of the weekend.
