Travel can be a challenge for those struggling with mental illness. It takes you out of the familiar and forces you out into the world. But it can also be helpful because it forces you to challenge your beliefs.
This weekend I am traveling, but fortunately for me it is just traveling back to my childhood home for the weekend. Nevertheless, the crowds in the airport and the plane can exhaust you when you struggle with anxiety.
Like I said though, challenging your fears of crowds is important for recovery (and important if you want to see family). And with any luck, it’ll get easier as therapy and medication help me better manage my anxiety.
And also, just a note, since I am traveling this weekend, there won’t be any other new posts until Monday. Have a good weekend everyone.
